In a touch of irony, I am a complete homebody, and sometimes my SIMS reflect that trait as I try to get their skills up. However, I do like to have a variety of lots to choose from when I take my sims out on the town (mostly because the SIMS algorithm insists on a social need) . I also like to have the choice of many different activities on each lot. Going all of the way to a community lot to meet 3 people and do 1 activity is so boring and frustrating. As such, I do like to develop and expand community lots – even though a lot of builders don’t care for them.

What I Really think about SIMS 4

I can’t remember the exact date that I began playing The SIMS, but I am pretty sure it was during the winter storm of 2002. My husband and I loved Making Magic. SIMS 2 blew my mind – I actually started buying the games and expansion packs long before I had a computer to run them. I kept playing it until my best friend convinced me to try out SIMS 4, around June 2022.

I have the complete SIMS 3, and the open world was interesting, but it never really drew me away from SIMS 2.

The first character I played in SIMS 4 was in Forgotten Hollow, and I actually had a great time. Also, Werewolves and High School Years came out shortly thereafter. It was a great time to be introduced to the new SIMS game. I was pretty hooked. I have barely opened my SIMS 2 since, and I was a diehard SIMS 2 player for over 15 years.

Discovering the Other Love of my Life

My wedding anniversary was this week, and I have been married to my best friend for 22 years now. The other thing that I have been doing for almost 20 years (December) is playing The Sims.

At the time, there was one base game, and one expansion pack out. Christmas in Arkansas was marked by a massive ice storm. Power was out across the state because the trees could not handle the weight of the ice, and would topple down, taking power poles with them. We went to stay with friends who had power, I picked up the game from Wal-Mart to help occupy my time.

Don’t Follow My Example – Follow Directions

I am very annoyed right now. I have the UI installed, but my body shop will only show up 800×600. This also makes it unusable because the graphics on-site match the updated UI. I have tried googling solutions. I have edited the graphics file, the shortcuts, and everything I can think of. Many hours later, and there has been no change.

It turns out there is a fix for this, and if you don’t follow the directions, it doesn’t work right. (Imagine that…)

    • The recolor window can be dragged to a different part of the screen so it’s not covering the object
    • Wall phones can still be used if they’re behind a counter
    • Wall mirrors can be used if they’re behind a dresser
    • Game tables are still usable when placed with the quarter tile cheat
    • Toddlers can sleep in pet beds and eat from pet food bowls, they’ll do it autonomously when their needs are low
    • Cars are still driveable even if the driveway piece isn’t connected to the road or you had to use Move Objects to place the driveway. The car will transport to the road instead of doing the pull-out animation
    • Leftover pizza and Chinese food can be put in a Sim’s inventory to keep it from spoiling
    • Food stands can be used in Sim-owned businesses
    • When trying to get your kids into private school, have your Sim drink coffee. The Headmaster will grab a cup and give you 10 bonus points
    • If you invite the headmaster around and have a hot tub, he will go sit in and you get 10 bonus points with ‘Headmaster in the hot tub!’
    • When pledging a fraternity, Hang Out and Play Kickybag are the fastest ways to build points with the members
    • If a Sim with the Wealth aspiration is caught cheating they can bribe the jealous partner to forgive them

Sims 2 is unfortunately abandonware and it’s impossible to get it originally now, and some people, like me, did not got the UC for free at time, so a lot of people just can’t play the game, which is very sad because everyone know how amazing it is!

But, luckily there is a way to still get this game! Through… piracy, yes, I know it’s sad that the only way we can get it is through that method, but at this point it’s almost impossible to get the original disks that are untouched/not broken… so if you really want to play sims 2 and do not care about doing this method so you can follow this tutorial!
